Honeymoonin’ In Cali

After being married for 7 months, My husband and I finally got to take our Honeymoon in Cali!

Honeymoonin' In Cali

This was such a special trip for us not only because it was our Honeymoon but because the 29th marked the day that we have been together for 4 years!

I wanted to share our beautiful trip with all you and possibly even give some of you a little bit of inspiration for your upcoming honeymoon!

Day 1

Huntington Beach

We drove up early Friday morning of May 26th to Huntington Beach — where we stayed in our first Airbnb. We stayed in a cozy little studio apartment that had the necessities for our 5 day honeymoon trip!

Beach Feet

As we arrived in Huntington Beach, we headed straight for the beach before even heading to our cozy abode. It felt so good to finally bury my feet in the warm sand.

We fell in love with our tiny vacation rental as soon as we walked through the door! It was so cozy and had all the perfect necessities.

Riding BikesBike Riding

After getting settled, we took a late afternoon bike ride down to the beach which was only 2 blocks from where we were staying (How Perfect!) I have always wanted to go to the beach for sunset and it was soo serene.

Beach Sunset

Day 2

We used our second day to take a trip to the beach and do what ever we felt like doing! More of like a free day.

SlapFish.JPG

First things first was breakfast… which is what we have been waiting for… as we headed down to a place called SlapFish that was about a 10 minute bike ride from our little place.

Love This Man

We had been eyeballing this place since we saw a video of their lobster breakfast burritos on Facebook so we put on our schedule so that we could try those mouthwatering burritos. Just take a look for your self!

SlapFish Lobster Burrito

We only come to find that the burritos were $17 a piece – which is outrageous for a burrito – but again it was lobster and so we went ahead and ordered it. It was so delicious but definitely a one time thing!

Honeymoon In Huntington Cali

The rest of the day we spent at the beach and around the boardwalk of Huntington Beach. We got ice cream, collected sea shells, and walked around the stores. Talk about a relaxing day!

Day 3

Now started the fun part of our trip! Disneyland Parks time! We had a 2-Day park ticket so we could spend one full day in each park.

On Our Way To California Adventures

Today we headed to Disney California Adventure. The great thing about going to this park around this time is that a day before we went to this park, the new Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout opened!

California Adventure

My hubby swore that he would not go on that ride because he hated the Tower of Terror ride and it is pretty much the same ride just a different theme, BUT… HE ACTUALLY WENT ON IT WITH ME! He still hated it but said it wasn’t as bad as the Tower of Terror because they changed up the sequence of the drops with the new Guardians of the Galaxy theme.

Guardians of the Galaxy Mission Breakout

I also was able to convince him to go on the California Screamin’ roller coaster for the FIRST TIME! He actually enjoyed it and said that the drops were worse than the up side down part. (Hint: He sincerely hates all roller coasters so this was a big surprise that he enjoyed it!)

We Survived California Screamin

It was pretty hot out (especially waiting in those long ride wait times), so since we are both now 21, we got a frozen margarita each which was so refreshing! And… of course… we got one of those mouth-watering turkey legs and a broccoli cheddar bread bowl to share because who wouldn’t?!

Turkey LegCotton Candy Love

It was so relaxing knowing that we had the whole day for each park. I’ve actually never spent a whole day in California Adventure before so It was pretty exciting that I got to ride pretty much all the rides (at least all the ones I wanted to)!

Day 4

ITS THAT DAY! DISNEYLAND DAY!

Dinsyeland CA

This day was special to us, not only because we were going back to the happiest place on earth where we got engaged, but because this day marked 4 years of us being together♥

On OUr Way To Disneyland

I even brought my white ears with the veil on them that I got when we got engaged! It was such a fun day of memories!

Back to the Place We Got Engaged

We went on all our favorite rides including Indiana Jones, Matterhorn, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean and more! We planned out everything with our fast passes and got to ride every ride we wanted to!

Disneyland Dole WhipEnjoying a Dole Whip

And of course… who can go to Disneyland without getting a Dole Whip?! It was actually our first time getting a dole whip and it was sooo delightful especially coming from my husband who can sit there and drink a whole can of pineapple juice! haha

Disneyland CastleHubby Love

Unfortunately, we did not stay for the fireworks because we were just so dang tired after 9 hours! Instead, we headed to the closet Walmart to our abode and picked up any food our stomach desired. We snuggled at our cozy place while watching a rental movie and stuffing our faces… Talk about a good ending to our fun day!

Day 5

Even though this is the day we head back home, the fun was still not over! Instead of traveling back home the way we came, we decided to drive through San Diego on the way home.

Sand Diego Beach

As we arrived in San Diego, we headed for Mission Bay Beach. We took a stroll on the beach and looked for more sea shells. It was quite chilly and overcast which was perfect for a light sweater.

My HubbyBeach Dreamin

Seeing all the kids playing on the beach and digging holes, we decided to get a shovel and dig our own hole. It was so much fun being carefree and acting like children again! I can’t even put to words how much fun but relaxing it was!

Zozos Giant Pizza

After playing on the beach for a little, we headed over to a little pizza shop called Zozo’s that my family and I used to go to all the time when I was little. They have the best homemade Italian pizza and even have their special giant slice of pizza! As the fatties we are, we decided to each get one giant slice of pizza and even ordered a third giant slice for the road!

The trip has now pretty much come and end as we drove past the California boarder and back into Arizona. Although we did have a wonderful trip, I was happy to be home in our warm hot state of the cacti.

Of course, now I miss Cali because as I am writing this, Arizona is in a excessive heat warning with temps of 110 degrees! What a welcome home present that is… haha 🙂

We seriously can’t wait to go back for another adventure and to book with Airbnb again♥ Definitely way better than staying at a hotel! This was probably one of my favorite trips with my hubby for sure!

The Perfect Camping Trip│Forest Lakes, Arizona

The majority of the trips my husband and I go on are camping trips. Here in our home state of Arizona, there are so many places to go camping – from camping in the the woods of Flagstaff to the desert area of Four Peaks. We love going camping and finding new places to explore our nature side!

Recently we just went on a trip up to Forest Lakes which is up just past Payson and now we have deemed it one of our favorite places to camp (for several reasons), so I though I would share with you our perfect camping trip!

DSC01252

We headed up to Forest Lakes on a Friday night after a day of work… which let me mind you was, what felt like, the longest day ever since all I could think about all day was going up to camp with some friends and get away from all the commotion of the city. After trudging through the long day, I was like a giddy 5 year old who was so excited about going to their favorite theme park but for me it was camping — Yes, that is how excited I get about going camping! This trip I was extra excited about because we were able to borrow a friend’s quad to explore the paths with.

DSC01258

We found the perfect campsite that had so much room for multiple tents, RV’s, and all the recreational vehicles we had as a group. It also had so many different off-roading paths to explore surrounding it. Then just down this one path, it lead to a small little creek that was oh so peaceful.

DSC01239DSC01245Our campsite was the ultimate experience for any passionate camper. The trees were tall and the air was fresh which made me instantly want to set up the hammock and just sway with the wind.

That is the thing I love about camping, it gets you connected to nature and helps ease the mind from any stress of the life back at home. It’s like you are free from any responsibility for the time being.

DSC01241

Being up in Forest Lakes, we saw so many animals including elk, squirrels, and even a porcupine — who I, for one, could not get over how cute he was even though I know he would prick me so fast if I got to close to him! Let’s be real here!

DSC01234

There were so many different paths to adventure through. It was almost like everywhere you turned, there was a new path that was just waiting to be explored. The pathways went on forever but the nice thing was that they always lead to a path that took you back to your campsite.

Even if you took 6 different turns… I know, Right? Mandala Effect! That’s all I got to say…

DSC01235DSC01255

We rode all day long Saturday, but the best experience was when we went on a night ride that night. It is gives you such an eerie feeling knowing that you cannot see but 2 feet in front of you– but that is just the beauty of exploring! You never know what you are going to run into but you don’t have a care in the world because you are just out there in the wilderness feeling the fresh crisp air without a care in the world – if that even makes sense.. does it? Hope so!

DSC01249

Just up the road from our campsite, there was a small convenient store where we gathered items to make hobo stew – which is just ground beef, carrots, potatoes, and a little bit of salt and pepper all rapped in some tinfoil and cooked on the fire (it’s a camping tradition to us). That little place had all the necessities you would need for camping and more!

DSC01256DSC01261

On Sunday, we took our time packing up and then decided to go on one last ride before heading home. It was so relaxing not having a care in the world and riding around with my love. We even found a spot to shoot off a couple rounds of our firearms before taking off.

DSC01250

Once we got home, we swore that was going to be our new go-to spot for camping! It was the perfect weekend; the perfect camping trip!

Most Beautiful Views In Arizona

Getting out and going on adventures is something that my hubby and I share a common interest in. We love going on trips or just getting out and getting in touch with nature.

most-beautiful-views-in-arizona

I have always wanted to go see the world because I didn’t see the beauty of Arizona. People would always say that would love to come to Arizona but I just wouldn’t understand them because I grew up here and didn’t see why someone would want to come to the place of dry heat that was known for its deserts and cacti. It just seemed boring to me and not so interesting of place to come and visit. When I thought of visiting interesting places, I thought of England, Germany, New York, Michigan, California and all the other places that were known for so many beautiful views. It wasn’t until lately that I have been realizing the true beauty of nature in Arizona. It is beautiful in its own way because each state has its own way of being beautiful and unique. I have recently really been loving going hiking and exploring all of Arizona’s beauty of nature.

My husband and I went on a recent hike through South Mountain Park in Phoenix, Arizona and it was such a lovely little adventure. We chose an overcast day so that we could show you all of Arizona’s beauty through nature and how it is not just all heat and sunshine. It was such a perfect day out where it was not too hot and not too cold… the weather was beyond beautiful. I absolutely love these types of days where you can feel the breeze of the wind and smell the fresh air of the great outdoors. South Mountain Park has beautiful trails that could be explored by walking, running, and even biking. Whatever hobby you enjoy… it is perfect to get the chance to explore these wonderful trails. We decided to take a nice walk/hike through the trails and capture the beautiful breathtaking view as we strolled along.

hubby-and-me

My husband (being the best husband he is) captured some amazing picture of our view as well as me in the environment. I decided to share with you our experience, our adventure, our hometown Arizona through South Mountain Park.

Towards the end of the trail, you come up to a beautiful structure that is built with stones. It has window areas and long benches built out of the stone so that you can sit and look out at the view while you rest from the hike or whatever activity you we participating in. In the middle of the structure there is what looks like a really tall fireplace built out of the same stone. Such a beautiful resting point that allows the breeze to just flow through it.

found-a-rockfinding-beautiful-rockshuge-stone-fireplacepondering-the-stones

Then behind the structure, there is a mountain of enormous rocks that you can climb (if you dare.. because I am scared of heights and it was a struggle for me… but I faced my fears and did it for you lovely people). From on top of the pile of huge rocks, it gives the most breath taking view of all the trails and scenery around the park. It is a perfect place to just sit and look out at the beauty of Arizona. I just lay on the rock and looked up at the beautiful Arizona sky… taking all my worries away and letting me get in touch with the nature surrounding me. Just perfectly perfect.

This is one of my favorite mountains to visit because of the beautiful structure and great scenery. The paths that were carved out are perfect because they are not too narrow and they aren’t too bumpy so mountain bikers are able to ride the path with ease and the hikers can stroll along with out being in the way of the mountain bikers.

South Mountain Park is always a great experience to help your self just get in touch with nature and even get some light or heavy exercise. I hope you really enjoyed this post and getting to see the beauty of Arizona as much I loved sharing it with you♥

Have you ever been to Arizona? If so, where have you been? Do you like going hiking and seeing the outdoors? Let me know in the comments down below! Lets get a conversation going♥
